In This Time and Age: Struggling to Stay Sane
In this time and age, it’s so hard to stay sane
I am finding it very difficult not to be influenced by the things that are not good for me unless I achieve them. And then you see millions of people on that path of power, fame, and vanity. You kind of want that power and fame, and you feel very unsatisfied with yourself.
There are some people I know who are not affected by that kind of wealth. They live their lives on their terms and don’t get jealous of what other people have, instead finding happiness in small things.
I think we are living in a very anxious generation. Our worth only proves itself when we achieve something, do something, and constantly need approval from other people, family, and society. Your value depends on what your achievements are.
And when someone from your family, who should be close to you and take care of your basic needs, always be there for you until you are capable on your own, doesn’t care at all — playing a neutral role in your life — you start to think about what you are going to do with yourself.
You want to blame, you want to complain, but to whom? You feel injustice and unfairness. But the world isn’t known for justice, is it?
